Megan is an Aberdeen based jeweller and silversmith who creates collections of silver and gold jewellery, handcrafted silverware and bespoke commissions from her workshop at Deemouth Artist Studios. Each piece Megan makes, is handmade using both traditional and contemporary methods and is finished to the highest professional finish.

Megan’s collections focus on creating unique, handcrafted tools, vessels and jewellery using cast rocks from the Scottish landscape. Through the exploration of materials and technical processes, Megan investigates and interprets the natural decay and erosion of the landscape through textural surfaces onto metal.

Tools have traditionally been used to create objects, using rocks from areas of natural erosion, the technique of casting is applied to craft a collection of silversmithing tools. These tools are then used to raise, planish and texture silver vessels. Due to the soft metal used to make the hammerhead, the texture alters through the process, therefore achieving completely unique and unexpected surfaces. A connection is then formed between the found object, the tool it makes and the piece that is created.
