Silver Earring Workshop
Learn how to make a pair of silver earrings from scratch in this three hour earring making workshop. Suitable for complete beginners. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from filing, sawing and soldering to forming and polishing in order to complete your pair of silver earrings. You will have the option to choose from studs, drop earrings or hoops.
Megan will show you examples on the day of the type of earrings you might like to make before receiving a demonstration on how to make the different types.
Wax Carve and Cast
Wax Carve and Cast a Silver Ring or Pendant
Learn the process of both wax carving, and casting in this full day jewellery making workshop. We will first explore the processes involved in wax carving by filing, sanding and carving a piece of jewellers wax. This wax model will then be used to make a sand cast or cuttlefish cast mould from. Once your ring has been cast in sterling silver, I will demonstrate how to clean up and apply a polished or matte finish to your ring/pendant which will then be ready to wear and take home. We will make the ring by melting scrap silver to create new jewellery using a crucible and pouring into different mould types (for example cuttlefish/sand casting). Silver for your ring is included in the cost of the course.
The workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some jewellery making experience. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from wax carving, to casting and how to clean up the piece ready to wear.
Silver and Gemstone Ring
Silver Ring with Gemstone Workshop
Learn how to make a silver ring with a semi precious gemstone from scratch in this seven hour ring making workshop. Suitable for complete beginners or those with some jewellery making experience. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from soldering and sawing to forming, polishing and setting in order to complete your silver and gemstone ring. You will have the option to choose which gemstone you would like to choose for your ring, or alternatively get in touch with Megan prior to your workshop if you want to use one of your own.
Intermediate Jewellery Making (2 Day Workshop) (Copy)
Intermediate Jewellery Making
This two day jewellery workshop is suitable for students who have had some previous jewellery making experience. The workshop will allow students to continue their learning and develop further skills in jewellery/silversmithing.
The workshops will be on Monday 22nd/Tuesday 23rd January 2024 or Saturday 11th/Sunday 12th May 2024, with a lunch break on both days.
In this workshop, Megan will cover technical skills such as chain making, stone setting, casting, recycling scrap, intricate soldering and other fabrication techniques. Materials are provided in the course fee, and you will be leave the workshop with a range of finished pieces and samples, including a gemstone set ring, a chain bracelet and more.
Previous jewellery making experience is essential (day class/short course/intro to jewellery making) as you will be expected to be able to file, saw, solder and clean up pieces.

You will have the option to choose different types of silver wire and can choose to upgrade to a stacking set (2 rings) on the day for an additional £10.
