Silver Casting Workshop (Cuttlefish and Sand Casting)

Learn the process of casting in this 6 hour jewellery making workshop. We will explore the processes involved in melting silver to create new jewellery using a crucible and pouring into different mould types. Demonstrations will be given in cuttlefish and sand casting before choosing which you would like to use to make a piece of jewellery. Included in the workshop cost is 20 grams of silver to use, and a chain for pendants if required.

You can choose to make a pendant or a ring (see images for examples). The workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some jewellery making experience. You will learn a range of jewellery making techniques from soldering and sawing to forming, polishing and casting in order to complete your piece of jewellery.

All you need to bring with you is glasses if you need them for close up work and please wear workshop appropriate clothing (no open toe shoes).
